Carles Vila Mumbrú has a degree in Social Education (UNED) and a Joint Master’s in Youth and Society (MIJS) (UdG, UAB, UB, URV, UPF, UdL). He has experience in sociocultural animation and associations. He has been a youth worker in Lliçà de Vall (Barcelona) since 2003 and an associate professor in the Department of Theory and History of Education (THE) at the University of Barcelona (UB). Since 2011, he has been writing the thesis “Youth and participation. Young people’s view on citizenship and democratic participation” at the UB. He has taught several courses and meetings on youth, youth clubs and youth participation. He is a member of the Group on Social Pedagogy (GPS) for Social Cohesion and Inclusion of the Theory and History of the Department of Theory and History of Education at the UB. He has collaborated in research on youth and participation. He is a member of the management team of the Catalan Association of Youth Policy Professionals (AcPpJ) and he coordinates the international project Be Youth Worker Today – BYWT.
